Facts about CMV/HSV/Syphilis

A positive test for CMV IgG indicates that a person was infected with CMV at some time during their life but does not indicate when a person was infected.

CMV testing should be done within 2-3 weeks of birth to determine if it is congenital.

There are currently no vaccines for CMV.

About one out of every 200 babies is born with congenital CMV infection.
